The National Federation of Business and Professional Women and the Canadian Federation of Business and Professional Women are pleased to present this event on a very important issue for women. Period poverty is a global issue that affects millions worldwide and directly contributes to the global gender gap. Women and girls miss school and work due to lack of access to period products, which has a serious impact on the global economy. Countries have slowly begun to address the issue of period poverty through state sponsored programs to provide products and services to those in need. We will explore the successes and misses in various countries, hearing from representatives from these countries and get to the root of what is needed to tackle period poverty.
